MEET CATHY
Cathy is a seasoned REALTOR® and attended both Penn State University and Old Dominion University. Very detail-oriented, she works tirelessly to help her clients move to their next stage in life, while keeping their best interest at the forefront. She is committed to providing her clients with an exceptional and genuine experience in every way.
Hard-working, caring, and dedicated, Cathy Hawkins is committed to building strong and lasting relationships with her clients that extend beyond the transaction. She has a true interest in people, and brings an extraordinary experience to every client relationship. Known as “the Poised Agent,” she puts her clients at ease during the process of buying or selling one of their biggest investments. She communicates in a way and on a schedule that works best for her client. A well-prepared market analysis is also very important to Cathy and she says, “I research and look for possible red flags in the home that may affect the resale value, or things that could potentially take away from the buyer’s enjoyment of the home.” Along with a stellar track record of being a skilled negotiator, she is always diligent when explaining purchase or sales agreements; being sure they are concise and correct. With a concierge-like service, she will arrange inspections and accompany the client on them as well. “My goal is to ensure that every need is met from start to finish,” she says.
Prior to real estate, Cathy worked for both AT&T and a medical office handling insurance where she built a 15-year foundation in client care, as well as attention to detail with contracts.
Living in Clayton since 2005, she is never at a loss for things to do. Whether it’s going to a park, walking trail, shopping, or special event, it’s never far away from her home. “We always look forward to going out to one of the amazing, local restaurants or breweries and meeting our friends. We also love trips to the NC mountains and beaches,” Cathy says. She and her husband have two daughters. One is a dental hygienist and the other is attending school in AZ to become a Naturopathic Doctor. In 2022, Cathy and her husband also became grandparents! Cathy has five sisters and one brother. One of her sister’s, Colleen, is also a real estate agent on the team. When not helping someone find their perfect home, she enjoys listening to music, going to the beach, and anything that involves spending time with family and friends.
Cathy grew up near Philadelphia, in Glen Mills, PA, making her an exceptional resource for anyone relocating from the northeast. She says, “Growing up, I always loved the snow. I appreciate its beauty and sometimes miss it, but nothing compares to the amazing weather we have in North Carolina.” She has also lived in Northern Virginia and the Atlanta area. These moves have helped her understand the challenges of relocating.
Always giving back to the community, Cathy has enjoyed volunteering her time with a local food pantry, her church as a youth leader, and Meals on Wheels. She also participates in the “Compass Cares” program, which supports meaningful causes in our local community.
